Triple M’s Semi Pro Radio is proud to announce the winner for the competition as Sydney creative and digital agency, Subtitle.
Semi Pro Radio invited creatives across Australia to pitch a concept for a radio show and produce a two hour pilot show for broadcast on the Triple M Network.
Twelve agencies progressed to the finals and were judged by Triple M Content Executives. They awarded Subtitle a cash prize of $5000 and a $30,000 Triple M Network advertising package.
Subtitle performed their entry, The Day Before The Day Before Tomorrow, at the Trackdown Sound Stage at Fox Studios as a radio play. Seven members performed the play in front of a live studio audience which was then broadcast on Triple M.
The Subtitle team, led by Andrew Garrick said, “Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Woot. Quick, I need to update my Facebook status. The seven writers and performers are all creatives who work together on projects that they want to. Sometimes these projects have clients, sometimes they're just for the love of it."
Austereo’s Head of Content Guy Dobson said the quality of entries in the competition was impressive, “We had entries from the big creative agencies through to the smaller agencies like Subtitle.
“We were impressed by Subtitle’s modern take on the classic radio play. It was entertaining and unique which is exactly what we were looking for. The Subtitle team are a very talented group and it’s a great reminder of the high calibre of talent that’s out there.
Semi Pro Radio was supported by the Advertising Federation of Australia.
AFA Executive Director, Mark Champion said “It was encouraging to see the creative community accept the Semi Pro Radio challenge, then deliver innovative and entertaining concepts which were able to flourish outside of the common boundaries of a traditional advertising brief. Congratulations to Subtitle on their outstanding performance.”
